The Power of Tithing: Honoring God with Your Firstfruits

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” — Malachi 3:10 (NIV) Introduction: What Is Tithing? Tithing is a principle that has existed since ancient times, and it remains a vital part of our spiritual walk today. At its core, tithing is the act of giving 10% of your income to God as an act of worship, gratitude, and obedience. ·          For those in salaried employment , the tithe is calculated based on your gross income , which is your income before taxes and any other deductions. ·          For those in business , the tithe is 10% of your profit , which is the income you receive after covering your expenses. Tithing is not a form of taxation or a religious requirement imposed up...

Sermon Title: “The Power of Prayer: Talking with the God Who Listens”

“The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.” — Psalm 145:18 (NIV) Introduction: What Is Prayer? Prayer is not a ritual or a religious routine — it’s a relationship. It’s the way we talk to God, listen to Him, and grow closer to Him. In the same way we keep in touch with friends through messages or calls, prayer keeps us connected to God. It’s not about using fancy words or repeating the same phrases — it’s about being real with God. “When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” — Matthew 6:6 (NIV) Jesus teaches us that prayer is not for show — it’s personal, intimate, and powerful. 1. Why Should We Pray? Many people wonder: “If God already knows everything, why should we pray?” The answer is simple: because God desires a relationship, not a ritual. Prayer is how we invite God into our lives — into our decisions, struggles...

Unlocking the Power of Giving: Understanding Tithes and Offerings as Acts of Worship, Not Transactions

Introduction Many Christians today have been led to believe that giving — whether tithes, offerings, or seeds — is a transaction with God, a spiritual “investment” meant to earn His blessings or protection. But the truth is deeper and more sacred: God is not interested in your money; He is interested in your heart. In many Christian circles, giving is often portrayed as a financial transaction with God. This transactional view of giving suggests that if we give enough, God will bless us in return, as if we are making an investment in a spiritual bank account. While the concept of sowing and reaping is biblical ( Galatians 6:7 ) , the emphasis should not be on how much we give or what we get in return but on the condition of our hearts. Giving is not a formula to manipulate God into giving us blessings; it is an expression of our love, reverence, and obedience toward Him. God’s relationship with His people has always been relational, not transactional . He desires a heart that is ...

SERMON: STANDING STRONG IN A WORLD THAT’S FALLING APART

📖 Key Text: Daniel 1:8 — “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank.” 1. INTRODUCTION We are living in a world that’s changing fast — values are shifting, truth is being redefined, and right is often mocked while wrong is celebrated. But God is still looking for men and women — young or old — who will stand firm and live faithfully in a generation that’s drifting from Him. Daniel was a teenager when he was taken to Babylon — a foreign land filled with idol worship, luxury, and compromise. Yet, he decided in his heart that he would not defile himself. In other words, Daniel stood strong when everything around him was falling apart. Today, God is asking us the same: > “Will you stand for Me when the world tries to pull you away?” 2. POINT ONE: PURPOSE IN YOUR HEART BEFORE THE TEST COMES 📖 Daniel 1:8 — “But Daniel purposed in his heart…” 📖 Joshua 24:15 — “...
