Attention to the Whole World: A Call to Seek God and Avoid Deception

The world is currently in a state of spiritual crisis. People are being deceived, destroyed, and led astray by the enemy—Satan—who works through false preachers, prophets, and teachings originating from the very pit of hell. The Bible warns us: "My people are being destroyed for lack of knowledge about God" (Hosea 4:6). This destruction is not because God has abandoned His people but because they lack an intimate, personal knowledge of Him. Without this relationship, people are vulnerable to deception and spiritual famine. The time has come for humanity to awaken to the truth, seek God sincerely, and reject the lies of the enemy.

The Danger of Spiritual Ignorance and False Teachers

When we fail to know God on a personal level, we open ourselves to destruction. Many people are misled, confused, and desperate for solutions to their problems. In their search for help, they fall into the hands of false teachers and prophets who exploit their vulnerabilities. These false leaders promise quick fixes, miracles, and prosperity, but their teachings are rooted in deception and ultimately lead people further away from God.

The primary issue is that many seek God only to solve their immediate problems, rather than seeking to know Him for who He is. "But seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need" (Matthew 6:33). When we prioritize knowing God, He provides for our needs and protects us from deception.

Matthew 24:24 also warns us, "For false Christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect" (Matthew 24:24). This is a clear warning to be aware of those who perform signs and wonders to deceive, even targeting the very elect. Many people are deceived because they are chasing after miracles rather than seeking the true miracle worker—Jesus Christ. Instead of seeking the Bread of Life, they follow those who feed them temporary bread that does not satisfy.

False Teachers Inflicting Fear and Manipulating Congregations

False teachers not only deceive but also instill fear in their congregations. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). Unlike Christ, who brought freedom from sin and peace and joy, these false leaders use fear as a tool to control and manipulate. They threaten their followers, saying that if they do not comply with their demands, they will face curses, rejection, or punishment. They even go so far as to curse those who decide to leave their churches or seek spiritual help elsewhere.

These false teachers ask people to do bizarre and immoral things, such as engaging in inappropriate sexual acts or applying anointing oil over their bodies while naked. They exploit people’s trust and desperation, twisting the gospel for their own selfish gain.

1 Timothy 6:5 warns about people who use godliness as a means to financial gain: "These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth. To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy." False teachers view godliness as a business and prey on the vulnerable by luring them with promises of wealth and blessings in exchange for submission and obedience to their demands.

1 Timothy 6:9 continues: "But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction." These false leaders care more about exploiting their congregations for their own gain than about guiding them to true salvation and righteousness.

Christ’s True Freedom vs. False Teachers’ Control

Christ offers freedom, peace, and joy, not bondage or manipulation. Jesus brought us liberty to live free from sin and walk in the joy of His presence. "So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free" (John 8:36). But false teachers place burdens on their followers, using fear and threats to control them and keep them from experiencing the true peace that only comes from knowing Christ.

The call today is to reject such manipulation and seek the truth in God's Word, which sets us free and empowers us to live in the fullness of His grace. "For the kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17).

The Veil Over the Minds of the Perishing

The good news about Christ is veiled to those who are perishing. "Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God" (2 Corinthians 4:4). To those who are perishing, the message of the cross is foolishness. "The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction. But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God" (1 Corinthians 1:18).

Many people have opened door of their hearts to evil spirits through sinful behaviors such as fornication, adultery, anger, malice, bitterness, unforgiveness, and other sinful natures. These sins alienate them from God and make their hearts a dwelling place for evil spirits. These spirits work through humanity to accomplish the enemy’s agenda, which is contrary to God’s purpose for us. "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12).

The Invitation to Spiritual Nourishment

In Isaiah 55:1-3, God extends a gracious invitation to all who are spiritually thirsty and hungry:

"Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it's all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food." (Isaiah 55:1-2)

This passage symbolizes the spiritual blessings God offers—His Holy Spirit, grace, joy, and the Word of God—which nourish our souls. These gifts are freely available to all who seek Him with a sincere heart. God’s Word is the "bread of life" (John 6:35) and the "living water" (John 4:14) that satisfy our deepest spiritual hunger and thirst.

The Warning of Spiritual Famine

The Bible also warns of a coming spiritual famine: "The time is surely coming," says the Sovereign Lord, "when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread or water, but of hearing the words of the Lord" (Amos 8:11). In this time, people will search desperately for truth but will not find it because they have turned away from God. Many will grow weary and faint, "thirsting for the word of the Lord" (Amos 8:13).

This famine is already manifesting in the world today. False teachings, cults, and deceptive leaders are on the rise, leading people astray. The enemy is working tirelessly to blind humanity to the truth, but the solution is clear: seek God with all your heart.

The Path to True Knowledge of God

To avoid deception and destruction, we must:

         I.            Seek God Sincerely: "But from there, you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for Him with all your heart and soul, you will find Him" (Deuteronomy 4:29). Our focus should be on knowing God, not just receiving His blessings.

II.            Repent and Forsake Sin: "Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy" (Proverbs 28:13). True transformation begins with repentance.

III.            Meditate on God’s Word: "Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do" (Joshua 1:8). The Word of God is our guide and protection.

IV.            Trust in God’s Protection: "Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him" (Psalm 91:1-2). Those who trust in the Lord are shielded from harm.

The Prosperity and Protection of the Righteous

The Bible assures us that those who fear the Lord and meditate on His Word will prosper and be protected:

·         "They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do" (Psalm 1:3).

·         "If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go" (Psalm 91:10-11).

·         Psalm 91:14-15: Further Assurance of God's Protection. "The Lord says, 'I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation.'" (Psalm 91:14-15)

These verses assure us that God's protection is not only for the here and now but extends to His eternal promises of salvation and honor. Those who love and trust God are assured that He will deliver them from every trouble and provide them with peace and long life.

The Fate of the Wicked

In contrast, the wicked—those who reject God and live according to their own desires—are not under His protection:

·         "But the wicked are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind" (Psalm 1:4).

·         "The godless in heart harbor resentment; even when He binds them, they do not cry for help. They die in their youth" (Job 36:13-14). "They die before their time, and their lives end in disgrace." (Job 36:14)

Without God’s shelter, the wicked face destruction and uncertainty. Their lives are marked by spiritual emptiness and eternal separation from God.

A Call to Action

The time is urgent. The enemy is deceiving millions, and false prophets are leading people to destruction. But God’s invitation remains open to all: "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Let us:

·         Seek God with all our hearts, not just for His gifts but to know Him intimately.

·         Reject false teachings and test every spirit (1 John 4:1).

·         Confess our sins, repent, and turn to God for forgiveness and guidance.

·         Meditate on His Word and allow it to transform our lives.

Conclusion

The world is at a crossroads. The choice is clear: seek God and live, or follow the enemy and face destruction. God’s blessings, protection, and eternal life are freely available to all who call upon Him in truth. Let us heed His warning, embrace His invitation, and walk in His light. "The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). May we choose life, seek God, and find true peace, joy, and fulfillment in Him.
